Celica says:
Yes, that's where I've been for the past couple of days. I climbed up on my lady slave's desk in her office. Then I nudged her clock a little bit and it fell off the shelf ... and ... well, it broke. She wasn't happy.
I think she's forgiven me now though. She gave me a nice brushing awhile ago. Feels so good....

Going to see the eye doc!
Well, Dr. Hurdle thought that maybe my right eye should be checked out by a specialist - Dr. Dave Tinsley at the Alta Vista Animal Hospital. It's a long drive across the city (and even longer from the cottage), but the Alta Vista clinic is where to go if there's anything really serious that might be wrong. They have all kinds of specialists.
The ophthalmology staff are very nice and they're super caring to us cats (although I know they like dogs too, but I'll forgive them for that). My slaves know them because they treated Scooter a couple of years ago.
Dr. Tinsley posed with me for a picture.
He even said it would be OK if I explored one of his special cabinets. I thought about it, but changed my mind. He might use more of those gadgets on me if he's thinks I'm interested.
The slaves and Dr. T. talked for awhile, but I was ready to leave. I just know this is the way OUT!
See you again in October....

Back to the vet!!! - one more time
Well, this time it was the annual checkup and shots - OK, only one shot.
Now Celica is pretty zonked out. She didn't get us up at 6:00 a.m. ... and she's still sleeping!
I guess she's reacting to the vaccine.

Back to the vet!!!
Well, last Saturday, Celica wailed for hours. She made passes at the litter box and wasn't doing anything in it. I was afraid she was blocked!
So the vet saw us quickly. Thank you Dr. Nixon!
Celica wasn't blocked. Whew!
But she had to stay there so they could get a urine sample. It took almost 24 hours!!!
She's happy to be home now, but not enjoying the new diet she's supposed to be on. Dr. Nixon is investigating alternatives.

Christmas 2009
Celica says:
Awhile ago, the slaves started talking about something they called "Christmas." At first I heard the word just every now and then, but then I heard it more and more often. And ... then ... they started acting weird.
They brought lots of boxes up from the basement and took out lots of things they called "decorations." (So that's what was in all those boxes I've been sniffing in the basement!) They put these decorations all over the living room and dining room.
And they moved some furniture without my permission. I don't like when they do that. It's quite upsetting to see things in different places. But it turns out they had to do that because of what came next.
They brought a tree inside the house!!!!!
This is called the Christmas tree.
They also bought a special plant called a poinsettia. I was told not to eat it. But I could play with the wrapping paper. That was fun.
And then soon they started wrapping "presents." Of course I offered my help.
They shared their special breakfast with me on Christmas morning.
But Christmas seems to be over now. They took the tree back outside and they put the decorations back in the boxes.
I wonder what will be next?

First big snow
Today was the first big snow fall of the year. Celica REALLY wanted to go out, so we let her have her way.
Don't we always???
Hmmm, there are birds taking shelter on the wood pile. Maybe they should find somewhere else.
Maybe there are some birds over there....Better check it out.
Celica asks: Does the snow look pretty on my fur?
